I have been doing direct sales since 1989 I have worked with many companies, team leaders and down-lines. I have learned a lot of what to do and what not to do’s over the years. One thing I can tell you is I have learned a lot about me through this experience.
As a young single mom I worked hard to take care of my daughter. I found doing direct sales as a great way to get some things I wanted without taking away from my daughter. It was also something she could do with me. It was fun but also helped pay a bill here or there.
I then added to my family when I got married and had two more boys to add to the mix. So being a working mom with 3 small children again I found direct sales very helpful. I remember buying a Discovery Toy kit to make sure my son had birthday presents one year.
As I grew as a person, a mom and a wife I also grew in my business. I became a leader and found I enjoyed helping other woman find their passion.
Life changed and my family did too. I found myself a single mom with older kids trying to juggle life. My daughter and I found family time in the direct sales. We could do face masks or foot soaks together and it bonded us. Great memories were created.
I then remarried and we opened our own art gallery and portrait studio called My Jungle Studios. It was a lot of fun. I still did direct sales on the side because it is something that just has been a part of me. We ended up closing our shop to move back to Walla Walla to help care for my grandparents and to raise our new son. My daughter grew up and moved away. and my older sons were not that long to follow suit.
So in Walla Walla I kept going with the direct sales but started doing more home parties, and vendor events. My friends and I started A Plus Events where we held a Vendor event the first Thursday of each month. This was so much fun!
My business was taking off and I was earning trips and seeing myself become strong and bold. My comfort zones were changing and I was dong new things. So this gives you a bit of my direct sales history without giving you to many details at one time. I have been in the field of direct sales now for over 31 years. WOW that is even hard to type out!!!
I have met some amazing people along the way and learned may things. I hope to be able to share with you what I have learned. I am always up for networking and getting to meet new people.
